we the adventure.
Welcome searchers and seekers, explorers and adventurers. welcome makers and dreamers, story bringers and story makers.
We are all sailors, on the journey.
a sailor be.
How do we ever know what we love? We must find it. We must explore, try, taste, discover. Our experiences make the journey.
We go somewhere new. Try something unexpected. Take part in new conversations. Discover new perspectives (not all we agree with, but that’s the beauty!).
Stories made, moments shared.
Through the doorway, life. Richer experiences, better stories, people worth knowing.
The moments matter.
Moments that mark how far we've come and where we may yet go.
Bonds are forged through these shared experiences. With our chosen clan, the ones we share experiences and values with.
OUR PEOPLE
SAILOR’S HOME
Since 1856, A HAVEN ON THE JOURNEY
In 1856, the Sailor’s Home was built in Limerick. A stone’s throw from the Shannon Estuary and the Atlantic Ocean.
A place of welcome between voyages. To offer welcome and sanctuary on the journey for seafarers and explorers.
A space to rest. To share a story. To raise a glass before setting out again.
welcome. home.
We are all part of a community. People making their own way, yet sharing the path.
Here’s to journey - and adventure on the way. Sláinte.
Irish (Gaelic):
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat,
Go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl,
Go lonraí an ghrian go te ar d'aghaidh,
Go dtite an bháisteach go mín ar do pháirceanna,
Agus go mbuailimid le chéile arís,
Go gcoinní Dia i mbos a láimhe thú.
English:
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rain fall softly upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
“Why do you go away? So that you can come back.
So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors.”
Terry Pratchett
