The coat of arms carved for the laying of the foundation stone of the Sailor’s Home in Limerick in 1856 celebrates that community made by the adventure.
The home was a place built to declare welcome for those who explore at the limits of possibility, and simultaneously offering a warm welcome to Limerick in the West of Ireland - to stay, to meet other adventurers, to share a drink and the experience.
